Delegate Hala Ayala Holds Election Day Press Call

WOODBRIDGE, VA — This morning, Delegate Hala Ayala, Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor, held an election day press call with Attorney General Mark Herring and DPVA Chair Susan Swecker to lay out the stakes of today’s election and deliver their closing messages to voters.

Delegate Ayala made the following statement. Access audio of this morning’s press call here

“At this point, many Virginians know my story. I’ve been a waitress, a gas station employee, and a school administrative assistant,” said Delegate Hala Ayala, Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor. “I choose to stress these lived experiences because I truly believe that they are what qualify me to be Virginia’s next Lieutenant Governor. What better advocate is there for affordable housing, health care, workers’ rights, and public education than a single working mother and former PTO President who went from standing in food lines to building a successful career in cybersecurity? As Lieutenant Governor, I’ll fight for the progress of our Democratic majority and continue to ensure every Virginian has a seat at the table.”
