Delegate Krizek is the 16th member of the Senate and House of Delegates to endorse Delegate Ayala’s historic campaign.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — Delegate Hala Ayala’s campaign for Virginia Lieutenant Governor announced the endorsement of Delegate Paul Krizek. Delegate Krizek is the 16th member of the Senate and House of Delegates to endorse Delegate Ayala’s historic campaign. Ayala’s campaign has been endorsed by the most members of both chambers of any candidate running in the field, demonstrating her strong leadership in Richmond.
"I am so excited to endorse Delegate Ayala's historic candidacy for Lieutenant Governor,” said Delegate Krizek. “I have worked closely with Hala during her four years in the General Assembly and she has been a central part of our Majority's greatest accomplishments. While I will miss her in the House of Delegates, I know that she will serve our Commonwealth with compassion and integrity as Lieutenant Governor. I hope you will join me in supporting Delegate Ayala."
“I am so grateful to be endorsed by my friend and colleague Delegate Paul Krizek” said Delegate Ayala. “I have had the pleasure of working closely with Paul during my time in the General Assembly and I have learned so much from his collaborative and thoughtful leadership. He understands the importance of coalition building to make meaningful change in our Commonwealth and I look forward to working with him across the chamber as Lieutenant Governor.”
Ayala — the first Afro-Latina elected to the General Assembly — serves in leadership of the House Democratic majority as Chief Deputy Whip, where she has helped usher in transformational progress for Virginia, including expanding Medicaid, passing historic criminal justice reforms, and raising teacher pay. She would make history as the first woman elected Lieutenant Governor and the first woman of color elected statewide in Virginia history.
Delegate Ayala is endorsed by Governor Ralph Northam, Speaker of the House of Delegates Eileen Filler-Corn, House Majority Leader Charniele Herring, EMILY’s List, and Latino Victory Fund. They join over 80 dozens organizations, elected officials, and community leaders from across Virginia in supporting Ayala’s bid for Lieutenant Governor, including former Congressman Jim Moran, Senator Lionell Spruill, Senator Jeremy McPike, Senator Janet Howell, Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, House Majority Whip Alfonso Lopez, House Majority Co-Whip Mike Mullin, Appropriations Committee Chair Luke Torian, Transportation Committee Chair Delores McQuinn, Delegates Besty Carr, Danica Roem, Josh Cole, Dawn Adams, Clinton Jenkins, and Kathleen Murphy, and Higher Heights for America, which is dedicated to electing more Black women.
