PWC GOP Right Wing Extremist Nomination Reflects a Party That Has Lost Touch

Prince William County - Saturday, the Prince William County Republican Party nominated extreme Republican John Gray for At-Large County Chair.

Gray ran his campaign on age-old fear mongering, prioritizing a Trumpian “crackdown” on illegal immigration and rejection of LGBTQ rights. This result reflects a clear shift in the Prince William Republican Party, one that has lost touch with the community - a community that recognizes our differences and unites for a common good.

“Prince William Republicans refuse to accept that the tide is turning, and with it should go the menacing attacks against immigrants, women, and the LGBTQ community. This is beyond party affiliation, but rather the basic principle of treating one another with dignity and respect. Our community has rejected partisan hate time after time, and we will do it again in November,” added Delegate Ayala, “To all Republicans running up and down the John Gray ticket - your silence is deafening. While Republicans stay focused on spewing hateful rhetoric I will continue to deliver on my promises of economic growth, access to affordable healthcare, and equity in our schools. I welcome anyone who wants to be a part of our progress.”

Delegate Hala Ayala has been a member of the Prince William County community for over 35 years and was elected to represent the 51st District in Virginia House of Delegates in 2017. She is a cybersecurity expert, single mother, and women’s rights activist.
