The VEA Fund Endorsement

WOODBRIDGE, VA. - The Virginia Education Association Fund for Children and Public Education (VEA) rolled out the first in a series of recommendations supporting incumbent legislators during the union’s annual Delegate Assembly in Richmond. Del. Haya Ayala of the 51st House District was recommended by the VEA Fund on Friday, March 29, because they have consistently voted for legislation considered vital and important by the members of the VEA over the past two General Assembly sessions.

“It is important that we protect and defend the elected officials who have demonstrated their

commitment to investing in public education,” said VEA President Jim Livingston, who chairs the VEA Fund. “VEA members will help re-elect Del. Haya Ayala and will be working hard to add more pro-public education Delegates and Senators like them this fall as we continue the fight to Fund Our Future in Virginia.”

Delegate Ayala is a graduate of Prince William County schools, mother to two Prince William County public school graduates, and former PTO President. Delegate Ayala knows how important it is to support public education, because she is a product of it. She has taken this fight to Richmond to support teacher pay raises and equity in our children’s classrooms, and she is not stopping now. Delegate Ayala received the VEA Legislative Champion award every year she has been in office for her work on behalf of educators, school staff, and students.
